On Saturday, April 14th, 2012, the City of Southlake in partnership with S.W.A.T. will host the 2012 Southlake Great American Cleanup. The Great American Cleanup, an initiative of Keep America Beautiful, is one of the nation’s largest annual community improvement programs. Last year an estimated 3.8 million volunteers donated their time to help clean up more than 16,500 communities across the nation.

This year, volunteers for the Southlake event will be picking up litter, mulching, and planting flowers at various parks and facilities. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Check in for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. at Noble Oaks Park, where volunteers will receive their assignments and supplies. Following the cleanup, volunteers will return to Noble Oaks Park for lunch. This is a great way for individuals to earn volunteer hours and give back to their community!

To participate in the 2012 Southlake Great American Cleanup, please sign up at www.SouthlakeSWAT.org. If you have questions or need more information, send an e-mail to volunteer@ci.southlake.tx.us or contact the Community Services Department at (817) 748-8311.
