Fill The Boot ~ Donations keep pouring in

Starting Monday, May 14th, residents will begin to notice Southlake Firefighters with “boots in hand” at various locations around the City.  They will be collecting donations for the “Fill the Boot” Campaign.
Each year firefighters gear up and hit the streets to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association or MDA. MDA is a nonprofit agency dedicated to finding a cure for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS, and other neuromuscular related diseases.
MDA was created in 1950 by a group of adults with muscular dystrophy, parents of children with muscular dystrophy and a physician-scientist studying the disorder. Since then, the organization has grown into a “Top-Rated Charity” with .77 cents of every dollar going toward research and services.
Thanks to your generous donations, medical researchers across the world can continue to work to find a cure for people suffering from such crippling diseases. You can learn more at www.mda.org.
We hope that you will dig deep into your pockets again this year and give to the “Fill the Boot” Campaign. See the attached flyer for the dates, times and locations where firefighters will be accepting donations. Thank you.
