Dragon 7-on-7 Team Aims For Success At State Tourney

Following the Dragons’ 16-0 football season that ended with a championship, the Dragon 7-on-7 team is looking to complete a state championship run of its own. The Dragons will compete in the two-day state 7-on-7 tournament beginning Friday, Saturday July 20-21 in College Station.

The team is led by senior-to-be State Championship MVP quarterback Kenny Hill, who has committed to Texas A&M. The Dragons are in 5A Division 1 and will begin pool play Friday. The Dragons will play a tripleheader with the first game at 1 p.m. against Houston Stratford and follow at 3 p.m. against Corpus Christi Calallen and 5 p.m. against Houston Klein Collins.

Other local teams that qualified for the state tournament in Division 1 include Colleyville Heritage, Arlington Bowie, Arlington and Arlington Lamar. Follow the Dragons in the tournament on www.state7on7.com.
