Southlake Tennis Center Hosts 2012 USTA Texas Mixed Doubles Championship October 5-7
SOUTHLAKE, TX – September 18, 2012 – For the second consecutive year, Southlake Tennis Center has been selected to host the Mixed Doubles Leagues Championship for the Texas section of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) October 5-7. The winners will compete in the USTA Mixed Doubles National Championship November 16-18 in Tucson, Arizona.
The statewide tournament is for 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0 divisions, and will feature more than 50 teams. Approximately 600 players will be at Southlake Tennis Center during the three-day event. Tournaments start each day at 8:00 a.m.
“While this is a huge honor for us to host players from throughout the state, the economic impact to the local community is also important,” notes Mia Gordon-Poorman, general manager for Southlake Tennis Center. “Last year, this tournament generated nearly $300,000 to the local community through hotel stays, restaurant expenditures and shopping. Since the tournament is the same weekend as Southlake Oktoberfest, we encourage the players to visit Town Square.”
The 2012 USTA Texas Mixed Doubles League Championship is open to the public and spectators are welcome. For more information, call (817) 421-5605 or email info@SouthlakeTennis.com.
