Dragons Welcome British Band Mates

Students participating in the Tring Music Exchange stop for a photo in Southlake Town Square

On Thursday, October 25, The Carroll Dragon Band welcomed 54 Tring School music students and chaperones to Southlake for a 12-day cultural and musical exchange program.

Initiated in 1999, this will be the fourth time that the band has conducted this quadrennial exchange program with the Tring School, located 35 miles outside of London. In addition to several performances by the Tring ensembles during their visit, the students will participate in the Dragon Friday-night half-time show on November 2, cheer on our Dragon Band at their UIL competition this weekend and sightsee around the Metroplex. Carroll Band families will host the Tring students and chaperones in their homes during their stay.  Next summer, a group of approximately 60 Carroll students and chaperones will travel to Tring, England for a reciprocal experience.

The community is invited to attend a memorable grand finale Gala Concert featuring the Tring students. The concert will be on Sunday, November 4, 3:30 p.m. at White’s Chapel Methodist Church.  Admission is free.
