Dragons Steamroll Keller Central 59-0

KELLER – The Carroll Dragons opened District 4-5A action last Friday with a big statement.

The Dragons blasted Keller Central 59-0 at the KISD Athletic Complex and continued their roll since the season-opening loss to Allen. Carroll (3-1, 1-0) won its third consecutive game in dominating style and still has not allowed a touchdown since facing Allen. The Dragons, ranked No. 7 in the state by the Associated Press, host Keller Timber Creek at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium on Pink Out Night.

Carroll senior quarterback Kenny Hill threw four touchdown passes in the first half to give the Dragons a commanding 35-0 lead by halftime. Mike Gardiner was the leading receiver with six catches for 138 yards and two TDs. Ryan Weigel had three catches for 71 yards and a TD.

Backup quarterback Ryan Agnew saw plenty of action and topped 100 yards rushing thanks to a 47-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. The Dragons’ quick strike offense included four touchdowns of 30 or more yards.
