Kenny Hill Named Gatorade Texas Player Of The Year

Carroll Dragon all-state quarterback Kenny Hill has added another impressive accolade. Hill has been named Gatorade Texas Football Player of the Year.

Hill has led the Dragons to an 11-1 record and third round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs. He also led the Dragons to an undefeated run to the District 4-5A championship. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstated on and off the field.

This season, Hill has thrown for 2,902 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for 1,196 yards and 28 touchdowns. For his career, Hill is 35-3 as a starter and the winningest quarterback in school history. He also carries an 11-1 mark as a starter in the postseason. Hill, who has committed to Texas A&M, also excels at baseball and carries a 3.38 grade-point average. He volunteers with various groups and helped create Play It Forward Southlake, which collects and distributes used sporting goods to disadvantaged youth.

Hill led the Dragons to the school’s 8th state championship last year going 16-0.
