Dallas Weins Takes Part in Southlake Lions Club Presentation

The Southlake Lions Club has raised $15,600 for the Leader Dogs for the Blind Organization. The organization, supported by Lions Across America, provides leader dogs at no cost to qualified recipients.

The monies raised assisted with the costs associated for a leader dog for Dallas Wiens. Mr. Wiens suffered terrible burns in 2008 and received the country’s first full face transplant in 2009.

Mayor Terrell and the Southlake City Council recognized the efforts of the Southlake Lions Club on Mr. Wiens behalf  at a recent City Council meeting.  The Mayor presented the organization and Mr. Wiens with a proclamation as well as the donation check from the Southlake Lions Club to Leader Dogs.   (See video: Check Presented to Lions Club).
