High Winds Could Change DFW Take off Patterns

The National Weather Service Forecast Office reports a Wind Advisory has been placed in effect for Monday, February, 25  2013 from 10:00 A.M. to midnight.  The Advisory includes west to northwest sustained winds of 25 to 35 MPH with gusts in excess of 45 MPH.

Cross winds of these velocities will require the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to use the diagonal runways for aircraft takeoffs and landings.  If the forecast remains valid, DFW will be launching jets over the cities of Southlake and Grapevine.  There may also be an increase in arrival traffic over the City of Irving.

Complaints and inquiries can be forwarded to the DFW Noise Complaint Line,972-973-3192, or e-mailed to dfwnoise@dfwairport.com.

www.facebook.com/dfwairport and Twitter@dfwairport are also available for airport communication.
