Vote for CSHS to Win $5,000

Carroll Senior High School student Aaron Ireland was recently selected as one of 50 Texas Scholars by State Farm. Aaron is the fourth Carroll senior in as many years to receive a $1,000 scholarship from State Farm. He is now up for a second scholarship which could earn him additional scholarship money.

As part of the State Farm Texas Scholar Award program, Carroll Senior High School is also up for an award. The insurance company’s website is hosting a “Vote For Your Favorite Scholar” contest.   Click here to vote for CSHS. Voting began on Friday, March 22 and continues through Monday, April 15.

Through a nomination process and voting, The Texas Scholar Award Program selects 50 scholarship winners each year. Aaron received his scholarship based on academic achievements, leadership and citizenship characteristics. Aaron is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Math Honor Society and National Merit Commended Finalist. Aaron is a member of the Carroll Medical Academy and was named the CMA Freshman Student of the Year.

Aaron is also an accomplished musician. He plays clarinet in the Dragon Band. During his four years of high school, Aaron was selected for the UIL/ TMEA All-Region band, received a Division 1 rating with the Dragon Marching Band and has qualified to compete at the state level. Aaron is also an active community volunteer, having amassed over 100 hours of community service with the Boy Scouts, Carroll ISD Band Boosters, the Southlake Public Library and as a Physics tutor.
