District Names Two New Assistant Principals

AmyEllis

Dr. Amy Ellis, CHS Assistant Principal

Carroll ISD has hired new assistant principals at Carroll High School and Johnson Elementary School. Both hires are from within the district.

Carroll High School has named Dr. Amy Ellis as its new assistant principal. Ellis joined the district in 2012 as Coordinator of Accountability, Assessment & PEIMS and has worked in public education since 2006.

Before arriving in Carroll ISD, Ellis was Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Instruction at Waxahachie High School. She began her career as a Spanish teacher.

“I’m looking forward to returning to a high school setting to build positive relationships with staff and students at CHS,” Ellis said. “I’m excited to get back to interacting with students and teachers on a daily basis.”

Ellis replaces Valerie Benitez, who left the district at the end of the school year.

Moses

Dr. Rene’ Moses, JES Assistant Principal

Dr. Rene’ Moses joins the administration staff at Johnson Elementary and has 21 years of experience in education. Moses previously worked in the district’s Curriculum & Instruction Department as a Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for the past 10 years.

She has worked in Carroll ISD since 1994 and served as a teacher for more than 10 years. Moses fills the vacancy left by Mike Landers, who moved into the same role at Walnut Grove Elementary.
