Meet Southlake's Newest Fire Inspector

a lopezMeet the Southlake Fire Department’s newest Fire Inspector Angelica (Angie) Lopez.  Ms. Lopez joined DPS and began her new duties on Monday, September 8, 2014.  She says, “I am very excited to be working for the City of Southlake and I am looking forward to working with everyone.”

The City continues to grow at a very steady pace. There is new construction occurring in residential areas and new businesses popping up in virtually all sections of the City. Fire Chief Mike Starr says, “The addition of Ms. Lopez will greatly assist the Fire Department with fire inspections, investigations and any other activities pertaining to the Fire Marshal’s Office.”

She most recently joined us from the City of Arlington where she worked as a Fire Specialist for more than 7 years. While at the City of Arlington she also worked as a K9 handler for 5 years for the bomb squad and had the opportunity to work the Super Bowl, two World Series games and many other exciting events. Before that, she worked for the City of Irving for 12 years.

Ms. Lopez is from Irving and has two daughters ages 23 and 19.  She is also very happy that she was able to keep her K9 when the animal was put into retirement.  She says Noah is enjoying his retirement being at home.
