Carroll ISD has named Ranjan George as its new Director of Transportation.

The CISD Board of Trustees approved the hire at Monday night’s Board Meeting. George has 14 years of experience as a School Transportation Director and previously worked at Waco and Robinson ISDs since 2012. He supervised a fleet of more than 100 school buses and 120 employees.

“I’m excited to be returning to the area, I grew up in Duncanville,” George said. “I’m looking forward to becoming a Carroll Dragon.”

George maintained daily driver schedules, managed transportation budget and purchased new buses for the districts.

From 2000-2012, George served as Transportation Director in Grape Creek ISD. He improved the program during his tenure with an emphasis on safety, quality and teamwork. George also improved the district’s record keeping and administration functions.

George will soon begin transitioning into the new role currently held by interim director Ginny Malera.

The Carroll ISD Transportation Department includes a fleet of 82 school buses and 30 suburbans, trucks and vans. George will oversee a staff of 74 responsible for transporting over 3,400 students.
