Hoops Update: Lady Dragons Complete Undefeated District Run

The Carroll Lady Dragon basketball team completed an undefeated District 7-6A season with a 61-46 victory against Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday.

Carroll (17-4 overall, 12-0 in district) were led by Kennedy Leonard’s game-high 20 points as she led a fourth-quarter surge and keyed the victory. Carroll outscored Heritage 19-5 in the fourth. Anna Hurlburt added 15 points and Priscille Smeenge had 10.

The Lady Dragons now gear for a Class 6A bi-district playoff next Tuesday against South Grand Prairie. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. at Birdville’s Thomas Coliseum.

Dragons Drop Close Game to Colleyville Heritage
The Dragons fell to 4-6 in District 7-6A after a 47-43 loss to Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday at CSHS. The Dragons were led by Lil’ Jordan Humphrey’s 18 points. Kirk Mason added 16. Carroll faces two must-win games to finish the season and stay in the playoff hunt. Carroll travels to meet Haltom on Friday and hosts L.D. Bell next Tuesday to end the season.
