Dragon Academics Advances to Regionals

Carroll_UIL_Academic_Regional_Qualifiers_2015The Carroll Senior High School students are preparing for the next challenge during the spring competition season. Three Dragon Academics teams advanced to the Regional UIL Meet happening later this month on the University of Texas at Arlington campus. Social Studies, CompSci and Current Events teams advanced to the Regional Meet, along with 26 students, out of District.

The Carroll Social Studies team, earned the highest score in the state for 6A schools at a recent meet and is favored to win Regionals. The team is also two-time defending State Champions.

“This is the strongest team I’ve ever had” said Social Studies coach and Academic Coordinator John P. Irish, who has won 7 state titles out of 10 years. “Last year’s group was my strongest up to this point, but this team is solid. All four students could win an individual state title.”

The Region 1-6A Meet will be held on the campus of UT Arlington, on April 24-25.
